Hey Tennis Friends!
The week before this featured match, the team captain had me scheduled to play singles. I had put in a couple of extra hours practicing singles, in order to better prepare:
One of our team members had cancelled the night before the match. Since other team members already had plans, Jason could not get a replacement that quickly. As a result, our team had to default one of our singles matches, and he moved me into a doubles slot.
Jason and I did alright, however, because of the last minute scheduling, we were unable to practice together, and, more importantly, coordinate our team colors. I think that we would have done better if we had matching outfits!
My results for this season, so far, are:
Local District/Area 4.0 Singles
1-1
Local District/Area 4.0 Doubles
0-2
I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

I can relate to this last minute stuff. I am acting captain for our team this weekend and just when I thought I had the lineup together somebody cancelled. I swear I have been working on this lineup for two days now. Yesterday the Andulka captain defaulted their #2 singles. I also don’t understand why they scheduled a match at 5:00 on Father’s Day. Oh well. I really hope nobody else calls me because I have the players written on the scorecard now. Sheesh!
