Hey Tennis Friends!

I wanted to include Andrew, the Stadium Court announcer, in my report, however, each time I was in the booth to record him, he was either not doing announcements at that time, or he was courtside, doing his announcing from down there.

Hopefully I’ll get an interview with him in the future, since he has been my patient mentor throughout the announcing gig.

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

2009 BNP Paribas Open XII

Friday, March 20th, 2009

Hey Tennis Friends!

Amongst other events today, for the last match on Stadium 2 for 2009, Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish defeated Richard Gasquet and Stanislas Wawrinka in the doubles semifinal. I was there to conduct to post game interview . . .

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

2009 BNP Paribas Open XI

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Hey Tennis Friends!

What I meant to say in the video was that Roy is the only person to win a title in singles and doubles at all four Majors, not Grand Slams, which is a different definition of accomplishment. After I recorded the segment with Bud Collins and Roy Emerson, Bud’s wife, Anita, who was sitting within earshot, helped to correct me.

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

Hey Tennis Friends!

Night tennis at the BNP Paribas Open: You really have to make overnight plans, because sometimes, “going home early” takes on an entirely different meaning . . .

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
