2011 USTA Fall League V

Saturday, December 17th, 2011

Hey Tennis Friends!

It’s my final match for the USTA Fall League tennis season!
In this report, once again, I got to team up with a brand new Tennis Friend . . .

Our first set lasted 35 minutes.
Our second set lasted 38 minutes.

My final results for this season are:

Local District/Area 4.0 Adult Men Doubles
3 Wins – 2 Losses

Out of nine teams in our local district/area, our team nearly tied for third place (one individual loss separated us from third place, and left us in fourth). It was a pretty good accomplishment, since the top two teams were nearly unstoppable with only one match lost a piece. I had a personal winning record and met a few more Tennis Friends. This is what USTA League tennis is all about!

2011 USTA Fall League IV

Saturday, November 12th, 2011

Hey Tennis Friends!

USTA Fall League tennis continues!
Apparently, this season, it is the goal to pair me up with a different partner each time :-) In this report, I was teamed up with someone that I certainly know from a local club, but, to my recollection, we have never played together before.

Our first set lasted 31 minutes.
Our second set also lasted 31 minutes.
At least this time, for once, we were not the last team to be playing. Although, being the first team who completed their match, doesn’t carry with it the same sense of pride that we would have if we had won . . .

My results, so far, for this season are:

Local District/Area 4.0 Adult Men Doubles
2-2

2011 USTA Fall League III

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

Hey Tennis Friends!

Once again, it’s time for USTA Fall League tennis!
In this report, I actually got to team up with someone that I have played with before . . . although, it was only one time . . .

Our first set lasted 51 minutes.
Our second set lasted 38 minutes.
Once again, ours was the pivotal match, as we were the last of our team’s three matches that were still playing, and the other teams had split their matches. Unfortunately, we were not able to catch the win this time.

My results, so far, for this season are:

Local District/Area 4.0 Adult Men Doubles
2-1

2011 USTA Fall League II

Saturday, October 8th, 2011

Hey Tennis Friends!

Once again, it’s time for USTA Fall League tennis!
Since I do not have a regular 4.0 doubles partner, I guess it’s a grab-bag every time that I show up for a match!
In this report, I was a fill-in for someone who was originally scheduled, but, could not make it. What a great way to meet more Tennis Friends!

I misspoke in the video. In our local district/area, we do not play a tiebreak for the third set, we play a full third set. What I meant to say, was that we had to break the tie by playing a full third set.

Our first set lasted 39 minutes.
Our second set lasted 34 minutes.
I didn’t get a time for the third set, but, we were the last of our team’s three matches that were still playing.

My results, so far, for this season are:

Local District/Area 4.0 Adult Men Doubles
2-0

2011 USTA Fall League

Saturday, September 10th, 2011

Hey Tennis Friends!

It’s time for USTA Fall League tennis!
This season I have, once again, changed teams. I am very fortunate to have the option to switch teams and meet new Tennis Friends. Hopefully, your local USTA League has regular multiple teams so that you can also take advantage of this, and meet more Tennis Friends!

After our match was finished, we weren’t sure if the record should reflect that it was a match on hard court, or, a match on clay court . . .
Is there even a category for “mixed surfaces”?

My results, so far, for this season are:

Local District/Area 4.0 Adult Men Doubles
1-0
