Hey Tennis Friends!
Sometimes, when I interview players, I have to edit their segment in order to fit it into the bigger program. Fortunately, I can then later feature the full interiew in a separate show. Here is one that features a cautionary tale on changing your equipment.
The final scores for the matches I mentioned are:
Round of 16:
Peng Shuai d. Pauline Parmentier 6-4, 6-2
I thought that it was interesting how Peng had explained that her dip in performance was from trying to switch to a longer racket. After that did not work for a while, she went back to her normal racket, and has performed better since.
Quarterfinal:
Bojana Jovnovski d. Peng Shuai 6-4, 1-0 (retired)
Peng’s injury was to her right shoulder. A disappointing retirement from the match, as she was having such a good week, and said that she was feeling fine in the interview.
