2012 Woody Tournament

Hey Tennis Friends!

A few months ago, back in June, before I began all of my reports for this past Summer of Tennis, I was invited to Toluca Lake Tennis Club to participate in a wood racket only tournament. After a few sessions of practice with my vintage rackets, I made a trip out to this great facility!

I had a great time visiting and socializing at The Sports Center Toluca Lake, also known as the Toluca Lake Tennis Club. If you live and/or work in their area, be sure to check out their amenities and programs at their website, here:

As my Tennis Friend, Rich, will attest, as long as my schedule and travel allows, I am always willing to come out to participate in, and cover, tennis events in your area. I am based in Southern California, and post my various travel plans ahead of time on Facebook.

Be sure to share GroundsPass.net with your other Tennis Friends using the social networking buttons, below.

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

    Hi Marcus,

Great performance at the 2012 Woody Tournament.
It was very entertaining watching both you and Rich get to the Finals.

The best part was when you both took off your caps!

    Keep them coming!

  2. Thanks John!
Actually, we only NEARLY made it to the finals. The guy with the white pants (very cool) in the third round was just too good. His partner, however, was using an early, COMPOSITE (not WOOD), Donnay racket. I thought that it should have been a violation, but, since it was a club-only event, and I was there as a guest, I just went with the flow 🙂
