2011 USTA Mixed League V

Hey Tennis Friends!

As I have mentioned before, I am playing on two 8.0 (combined) teams for the 2011 USTA Mixed Doubles season. For my final match of the season, I get to play in my local district/area!

Once again I have been teamed up with our co-captain!

It was kind of a short season for me, as I was on a large team in my local district, so I only got to play the required three matches.
My adjacent district team was a smaller team, however, my partner, Inger, got a wonderful job opportunity, and moved out of the area right after the beginning of the season. As a result, the other team members were already paired up, and I did not get another opportunity to play. I did, however, get scheduled for a match that was defaulted, so, my partner and I got credit for a win without even hitting the court.

At least I had a combined winning season record!

My final results for this season are:

Local District/Area 8.0 Mixed Doubles
2-1

Adjacent District/Area 8.0 Mixed Doubles
2-1

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

Would you say that your win was based largely on your play at net? You seemed to feature that in this clip. I feel that playing at net is still a weakness for me. What advice can you offer?

  2. Our win was based on teamwork!
As I go through the videos of the match, I just pick out various winning shots, and select the highlights from them. Specifically featured types of play are just as random as the full gameplay itself.

I’m not qualified to offer advice on YOUR game, . . . I’m still trying to figure out MINE!

I definitely saw the teamwork. You both were very good at net. Just more winning shots at net on this clip, I guess. Thanks!

Thanks for having the links listed on your site. I just FB’d all my friends about your site link to the USTA program “Tennis for kids under 10”. I was amazed by the modified equipment and courts. All designed to get kids playing and seeing success right away. Smaller court, special balls and raquets. If I weren’t a subscriber to groundspass.net I wouldn’t even have known about the great kids’ program and equipment giveaways.
