Hey Tennis Friends!
It’s not that glamorous from this end . . .
This is a shot that the players get to see from “the tunnel” that leads to center court. It pretty much looks like a bomb shelter, . . . without all of the graffiti. I had to set my MacBook down and run in front of the built-in camera to beat the three second timer!
For those of you who took advantage of my tickets, be sure to arrive early and have your guest stand in the Entrance line, while you stand in the Will Call line. The morning session lines have already started by the time I show up at 9:30AM at all gates.
Here’s a shot of me handing the tennis balls and marker to Carlos Moya, after his three set win over Robby Ginepri 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
TV coverage started today on Fox Sports. My seat (when I am there) is behind the Chair Umpire, front row, three seats to their right. Not a lot of camera time, unless there is some action at the net.
Next up, Jelena Jankovic took out American Ahsha Rolle 6-0, 6-2. When I was having Jelena sign the tennis balls, the hand-held TV camera was right there, . . . cropping me out of the shot!! Damn TV people 🙂
By the way, Day Session ended on Stadium 2 last night at 11:00PM. Not a bad day’s worth of tennis!
I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
