2013 Southern California Open IV

Thursday, August 1st, 2013

Hey Tennis Friends!

This show is seriously jam-packed with tennis stars!
Only three days left: quarterfinals, semifinals, and the championship. Don’t miss out!

Women’s Singles
Urszula Radwanska d. Jelena Jankovic 6-2, 4-6, 6-3
Jankovic is still going strong this year by making the semis in Miami, the finals in Charleston, and winning on clay in Bogota. It’s great to see someone with such longevity in the game still ranked high: #16! She is still in the doubles draw at this tournament with partner Katarina Srebotnik.
Radwanska has had hard court wins this year over Sloane Stephens (#17) and Roberta Vinci (#16), and made the semifinals of Dubai.

Agnieszka Radwanska d. Daniela Hantuchova 6-3, 6-3
Hantuchova’s sixth title was on grass this year at Birmingham, England. The former number five ranked player’s other five singles titles are all on hard court.
Radwanska has twelve career singles titles, with two of them added this year. Both of those new titles were on hard court. The Radwanska sisters are on opposite sides of the draw, and could very possibly meet in the final.
