Hey Tennis Friends!
It’s quarterfinal day at the Southern California Open!
Once again, I have a show full of interviews and highlights. What a great way to finish my week of reporting!
Women’s Singles Quarterfinals
Virginie Razzano d. Petra Kvitova 6-7(6), 7-5, 7-6(8)
What an amazing match! It lasted for 3 hours and 35 minutes! The second longest match on the WTA tour this year. Razzano’s personal issues and injuries took their toll on her ranking over the past couple of years. As she said in the press conference, “I am not a robot!”, meaning that there is more to her life than tennis, and other complications can have an emotional toll. But, she is a fighter, and certainly proved that with this win today!
Ana Ivanovic d. Roberta Vinci 6-1, 6-7(1), 6-2
A see-saw match, and a second quarterfinal three-setter, made for a long day of tennis. The third quarterfinal also went three sets, which pushed the doubles match that I was going to cover onto the camera-unfriendly Court 2.

Again, great court coverage. I did find, however, that the interview with Roberta Vinci was not framed very well. No doubt, some limitations with positioning prevented a better set up. The blooper was fun! Thanks, Marcus Tennis, for transporting me to the event via your videos.
Looking good Marcus!!! Great coverage all week!
