2013 BNP Paribas Open VIII

Hey Tennis Friends!
Four courts today, . . . only three tomorrow . . .

The result for the match that I mentioned is:

Andy Murray d. Yen-Hsun Lu 6-3, 6-2
These two had only played once before, with Lu winning in straight sets at the 2008 Olympics. The final stats were relatively the same, but, Murray was able to save all five of his break points, while Lu only saved two out of six. Murray, the number three seed, also scored more aces at 5-2.

  1. Randy says:

Another great report, Marcus! Yes, that car wash sign is a wonderful landmark.

  2. Peter says:

Saludos Marcus….great meeting you. Your blog is great. Gracias for the suggestion we invade Stadium 2 early. We never budged for five hours and never got to our seats in the Stadium 1. Del Potro match was good but the Bryan brothers match was definitely a nail-biting-heart-attack match. I had never heard of the “super tie breaker” they ended up in and won 10-7 (too close for comfort) Good luck…Keep up the good work.

  3. Thanks for watching Randy!

It was great to meet new Tennis Friends, Peter! I’m glad that you found my advice valuable!

  4. John Raattama says:

    Yes Huntuchova is very fit!

  5. By the way, I forgot to mention that Hantuchova and Medina-Garrigues were entered into the doubles at this event. They made it through to the quarterfinals before getting knocked out.
