2012 BNP Paribas Open VI

Hey Tennis Friends!

Today was USTA Member Appreciation Day! Did you remember to attend?

CORRECTION: Juan Monaco is not from Spain, as I said in my voiceover. He is actually from Argentina!

As it turns out, Nadia Petrova turned around her “bad tennis day”, and made a three set match out of it! I’m happy for the fans that stayed, as the first set was dismal. I left the match when Maria Kirilenko was up 6-1, 3-0 in the second.

The results for the matches that I featured are:

Angelique Kerber d. Christina McHale 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4)

Mariusz Fyrstenberg / Marcin Matkowski
d. Matthew Ebden / Ryan Harrison 6-4, 6-7(5)

Maria Kirilenko d. Nadia Petrova 6-1, 5-7, 6-2

Leander Paes / Radek Stepanek
d. Juan Monaco / Kei Nishikori 7-6(5), 6-4

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

Thank you Marcus. As usual, very informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work!

  2. Tina Holden Burroughs says:

Very exciting men’s doubles, especially when the team in foreground returned a “put away” shot. They had the experience/skill to stay in the back court after lobbing it. Thanks for bringing the BNP Paribas to us who could not attend.

  3. That was just great/lucky anticipation by Nishikori!

  4. Thanks Lana! Workin’ hard 🙂
