Hey Tennis Friends!
Injuries are part of tennis, even when you don’t incur them on the court. I injured myself, outside of the game, the evening before the following match, but chose to play for the team anyway.
This match was held on Superbowl Sunday, and I knew that trying to get another male player at the last minute for the 2:00PM PST start time (3:30PM for the Superbowl), would be an impossible chore, even for our well organized captain. Rather than give the opponent a default, I chose to show up, and give it my best shot . . .
As I was setting up to capture video with my MacBook during the first changeover, one of our opponents had objected to my capturing video of the game play. Since I didn’t want to incur a time violation warning by explaining what I was going to do with the video, and/or describing my site, etc., I capitulated and did not shoot any video.
For those of you who are not squeamish, and by popular demand (yes, some people actually requested this), here is a photo of my injured toe. OUCH!
My results this season, so far:
Local District/Area 8.0 Team
(with partner rated 4.0, or less) 0-3
Local District/Area 7.0 Team
(with partner rated 3.0) 1-0
Adjacent District/Area 8.0 Team
(with partner rated 4.0) 1-2
I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

Marcus, where was this match held? It was a beautiful location and I was wondering if this was near UCLA? Great site and keep up the great work!
