Tennis Tip: Cushioned Shoe Inserts – Replay

While I am assembling the details of a special year end prize giveaway contest, please allow me to “Replay the Point” on a tennis tip from this past May:

Hey Tennis Friends!

I know that it sounds like a commercial when I use brand names and model versions, etc., but I feel that it is important to be as specific as possible when recommending something.

For instance, I have tested various brands of cushioned and/or gel-type shoe inserts, but the one that I have found the most durable is the DrScholl’s model mentioned in the following video:

I hope that you enjoyed this tip. If you have a tennis tip and/or trick that you would like to share, email me and I’ll try to make arrangements to feature it on this site!

Be sure to share with your other Tennis Friends, and I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!

omg! someone should hire you to do those kind of commercials! that was great. I’m not biased or anything.

Mark – good advice and well explained. I use the generic version of the Dr.’s inserts (half the price) in both my running and tennis shoes to prevent my planter fascitis from flairing up and they work a treat. Great job again. Merry, merry to you.

Computer billionaire Ellison takes over Indian Wells

    12/23/09 4:56 AM | Johan Lindahl
Computer billionaire Ellison takes over Indian Wells Computer billionaire Larry Ellison is moving big-time into tennis, buying the Indian Wells Masters to be played under the new management March 8-21 in the Californian desert east of LA.

The Oracle corporation chief bought the tournament and its grounds at Rancho Mirage from owners and founders Charlie Pasarell and Raymond Moore, former players and principals of PM Sports Management.

Other owners included the United States Tennis Association and former players Pete Sampras, Chris Evert, and Billie Jean King.

“I am very excited to become the new owner of the prestigious BNP Paribas Open,” said Ellison. “Anyone who knows me knows that I love the game of tennis. I play it regularly, watch it frequently.

“I now look forward to being in Indian Wells every March to host the greatest players in the world. This tournament has an incredibly solid foundation, including one of the best venues and management teams, and I intend to build on that and continue the vision of being one of the greatest international sporting events worldwide.”

The tournament began in 1976, with Pasarell becoming tournament director in 1981.
