2008 Western & Southern Masters VIII

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Hey Tennis Friends!

Me & Anne

This is me with my friend and volunteer usher, Anne. I met Anne when she was a volunteer usher last year at this event, as well. We have stayed in touch through email, and were able to watch some tennis together this year, . . . after her shift, of course :-)

That’s one of the best things about going to a tennis event, you can make friends pretty easily because you already have an interest in tennis in common. Last year, Anne’s boyfriend and I sat together watching matches, and had a great time!

Volunteering at a pro event is a great way to meet people, help out the tournament, and see the action on the courts, without buying a ticket! There are always many opportunities at all of these events, so visit their websites and look for the volunteering information.

Next up is the Countrywide Classic men’s tournament in Los Angeles.

Stay tuned!

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
