Hey Tennis Friends!
Earlier this year, I did a report on the grand opening of a new local tennis facility at Andulka Park. One of my Tennis Friends, who I regularly play with, and I decided to enter the 4.0 mixed doubles division of their first annual championship.
The format for mixed doubles was “no ad” scoring, which means that when the score reaches 40-40, or deuce, the next point is the deciding point. For this tournament, the genders had to serve to like genders if a game went to a deciding point. So, if that was the case, then the man serves to the man, or the woman serves to the woman.
During the match play segment of the video, pay close attention to my illustration of “a little too loose” of a grip on my return of serve . . .
As it turns out, our opponents were the team that beat everyone else and won the local public tournament. Losing to the eventual champions made me feel a little better about the loss . . .
I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
