2014 USC v. UCLA

Sunday, May 11th, 2014

Hey Tennis Friends!

The ultimate in college tennis match-ups out in the Western United States has got to be the crosstown rivalry between the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles!

Once again, I was invited out by the USC Trojans’ men’s tennis team. This time it was against UCLA, and I filed this report:

It was great to see so many Tennis Friends, old and new, out there playing their hearts out. My thanks to Greg Labanowski (USC) and Grant Chen (UCLA) for making sure that I got my post-match interviews from each team.

Here are the results for the matches that I featured:

#2 DOUBLES:
Joseph Di Giulio/Clay Thompson (UCLA)
def. Nick Crystal/Roberto Quiroz (USC) 8-7(3).

#4 SINGLES (with college singles rankings):
#95 Max de Vroome (USC)
def. #74 Gage Brymer (UCLA) 6-3, 4-6, 6-3

Here is a comprehensive post match report from the UCLA team:
No. 5 Men’s Tennis Suffers 4-2 Loss to No. 3 USC
