Hey Tennis Friends!

It’s a pretty great day out here on Stadium 2!

It is, however, a little windy, and there is quite the layer of grit on my MacBook! Seriously, it’s worse than being at the beach. Dirt and electronics don’t go together very well.

Announcing Marat Safin

Here’s a shot of Marat Safin warming up, with me on the court, and Carlos Bernardes in the chair. In the match preceding this one, his sister Dinara Safina had just beaten Jill Craybas 7-6,7-5. After Marat lost his match to Jurgen Melzer 7-6, 2-6, 6-2, Amelie Mauresmo came onto Stadium 2 and beat Elena Gallovits 6-2, 6-4.

Amelie on my Shoulder

Taken from my MacBook’s camera, the angel on my shoulder in this picture: Amelie Mauresmo.

This was the first day that they had me give the balls to the players to sign and hit into the stands. This was pretty exciting, as up to this point, I was instructed not to interact with the players. Inevitably, when handing three tennis balls to someone, your fingers will touch. I actually made contact with the pros!

Thanks to all who have come out to say “Hi!” so far. I look forward to seeing everyone else, too!

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
