Hey Tennis Friends!

Welcome new subscribers!
I know that sometimes my reports seem like commercials, but I do like to feature the people and companies that support tennis . . .

The final scores for the matches I mentioned are:

Carsten Ball d. John Isner 6-4, 6-4
Carsten Ball was born in Newport Beach, California. His father, Syd Ball, was an Aussie pro player. Carsten has dual citizenship, and plays for Australia. This is his first ATP event ever, and he has made the semifinals!

Sam Querrey d. Dudi Sela 6-3, 7-5
As a result of this match, Sam is currently #1 in the US Open points race and when asked about his training, said that, “Playing matches is the best fitness you can do.”

Tommy Haas d. Marat Safin 7-6(3), 6-2
When asked what he was thinking about when stepping out onto the court for the Wimbledon final, Tommy said, “That was my favorite time ever being out there on that court. It was an unbelievable run for me.”

I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
