Hey Tennis Friends!
It’s quarterfinal day and television will have ample coverage of that.
I’ll show you a little more of the doubles contests.
The final scores for the matches I mentioned are:
Mahesh Bhupati / Mark Knowles d. Michael Llodra / Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
7-6(3), 6-3
Lukasz Kubot / Oliver Marach d. David Ferrer / Tommy Robredo
7-6(2), 6-1
Andy Murray d. Julien Benneteau 4-6, 6-3, 6-1
One of the points was a 53 shot rally!
During that point, you could hear the crowd noise swell a few of times, thinking that it was over, when is actually wasn’t. I asked Andy if that crowd response factored into his playing. He responded, “No, not really. You just try and stay focused. Doesn’t make a huge, huge difference, But, you know, the reaction after that point was great. That’s why you keep fighting in those long rallies.”
Bob Bryan / Mike Bryan d. Wesley Moodie / Dick Norman
6-4, 7-6(11)
I’ll see you next time, with more tennis, . . . outside the lines!
